چکیده
Abstract. Spectroscopy of scattered sunlight in the near-UV to near-IR spectral ranges has proven be an extremely useful tool for analysis atmospheric trace gas distributions. A central parameter achievable sensitivity and spatial resolution spectroscopic instruments is étendue (product aperture angle entrance area) spectrograph, which at heart instrument. The instrument can enhanced by (1) upscaling all dimensions or (2) changing F number, (3) increasing area, (4) operating many (of identical design) parallel. (in principle) arbitrary factors options (4); effect limited. We present some new ideas considerations how determination gases could optimized using possibilities spectrograph design manufacturing. Particular emphasis on arrays massively parallel observations sunlight. Such reduce size weight orders magnitude while preserving light throughput. also discuss optimal individual spectrographs a array give examples systems use (low Earth orbit) satellite, including one with sub-kilometre ground pixel size.

IRIS (InfraRed Imaging Spectrograph) is a first light instrument presently being developed for the Thirty Meter Telescope (TMT). IRIS will include an integral field spectrograph and an imaging camera, covering wavelengths from 0.84 μm to 2.4 μm (infrared range). IRIS will work with the Narrow-Field Infrared Adaptive Optics System (NFIRAOS), achieving an unprecedented angular resolution [1], cre...

متن کاملSINFONI observations of Nearby AGN and Design of an interferometric integral-field spectrograph for the LBT
The high energy output of an Active Galactic Nucleus (AGN) is due to the accretion of material onto a supermassive black hole (SMBH) and implies the presence of a gas reservoir close to the AGN. Furthermore, according to the Unified Model of AGN, the gas also plays an important role in the aspect-angle obscuration of the nucleus produced by a molecular/dusty torus. In the case of Type 2 AGN the...
متن کاملAtmospheric glories: simulations and observations.
Mie theory can be used to provide full-color simulations of atmospheric glories. Comparison of such simulations with images of real glories suggests that most glories are caused by spherical water droplets with radii between 4 and 25 microm. This paper also examines the appearance of glories taking into account the size of the droplets and the width of the droplet size distributions. Simulation...
متن کاملthe search for the self in becketts theatre: waiting for godot and endgame
this thesis is based upon the works of samuel beckett. one of the greatest writers of contemporary literature. here, i have tried to focus on one of the main themes in becketts works: the search for the real "me" or the real self, which is not only a problem to be solved for beckett man but also for each of us. i have tried to show becketts techniques in approaching this unattainable goal, base...
